Based in Beijing, WOMO is a new player in the pet industry with a focus on middle and high-end cat food products.

Beijing and Los Angeles-based branding agency A Black Cover Design (ABCD) created a symbolic, differentiated, and high-quality design language for WOMO, aimed at capturing consumer recognition and retention.

As a newly established brand, WOMO struggled with effectively conveying its brand features. To help WOMO reposition its middle and high-end cat food products, ABCD adopted a more direct approach with a tasty, fun, and visually appealing narrative. 

Recognising that cats have unique personalities and cat owners can be discerning, ABCD employed a distinctive and intriguing brand language to capture consumers’ attention and offer a more memorable experience. For a more personalised touch, this interpretation of WOMO incorporates a clever wordplay making it sound like "my cat" in Mandarin.

ABCD redesigned WOMO’s original bulky packaging into a convenient barrel-shaped package for long-term preservation and ease of use. Furthermore, the agency came up with different content structures for the barrel-shaped packages in various sizes and specifications. To enhance the visual appeal, bright and highly saturated colours were chosen to reflect the freshness and deliciousness of the cat food offerings. Illustrations and bubble boxes were incorporated to add a sense of fun and create a logical relationship within the layout. Additional attention was also given to content presentation and materials technology to ensure a high-quality product.
