Established in China since 2016, Rever is a leader in the realm of self-care. It offers a diverse range of bathroom essentials, including fragrances, skincare, face and feet care, as well as bath oils and bath bombs. To further expand its brand identity, Rever has ventured into music as a new brand derivative.
Beijing and Los Angeles-based branding agency A Black Cover Design (ABCD) was tasked to redesign a new visual identity for Rever, including the logo, colour matrix, packaging design, product pages, product naming, and communication. The new look aimed to create a holistic experience for consumers, which is in line with Rever's core demand of making the bathroom a place of pleasure and joy.

The new look aimed to create a holistic experience for consumers, which is in line with Rever's core demand of making the bathroom a place of pleasure and joy.
The design stemmed from the question of how we interpret and understand bathroom culture. For instance, a scented bathroom is perceived as distinctly different from one without any scent.
From this perspective, the bathroom is recognised as a vital space where individuals can indulge in a complete set of experiences, ranging from body care to mood care. As a result, the rebranding for Rever centred around creating a sense of pleasure for consumers through the use of essential oils and uplifting tunes, with the aim to enhance the overall experience.
Inspired by the rhythm of music, Rever’s logo features bouncing letters that evoke rhythmic associations while the symmetrical structure balances for a more refined and stable quality.
The ABCD team adopted a boldface to ensure compatibility with a more diverse product line of varying price ranges, such as jazz, pop, electronic music and rock.
