Sturdy is a Los Angeles-based creative house and digital delve dedicated to creating and producing evocative visual narratives. Their work spans multiple disciplines, brought together by a singular drive to create unforgettable moments of connection.
New York-based creative studio Fix Studio developed a digital brand system and website design for Sturdy, complete with a comprehensive front- and back-end system that empowered Sturdy to showcase their work in style. The studio also designed an inspiration board-style interface and tool to enhance communication between Sturdy and its clients.
The design for the digital brand system and website balances edge and elegance with an artful use of texture and white space to create a sense of depth and balance. The design incorporates dynamic and energetic elements, such as bold typography and subtle animations, to showcase Sturdy's strengths and assets.
Fix Studio built a responsive website that offers a visually consistent brand experience across all devices. It provides a sharp and cohesive user experience from mobile to desktop, seamlessly adapting to every screen size. The design principles that govern the on-brand layout also guide the creation of flexible and highly structured components, which integrate into a custom CMS (Content Management System) for the Sturdy team.
Fix Studio developed a set of collaborative tools, empowering the user to effortlessly add any asset available on the site to a collection that can then be easily shared or downloaded. This feature enables Sturdy to invite collaborators to explore the site, curate their collections, and establish a seamless creative alignment while serving as a helpful reference point.
Drawing inspiration from the late 90s and early 2000s web aesthetic, the website's design incorporates pop-up screens as a delightful interruption to the user experience. These pop-ups provide as a creative avenue to display the hidden gems of the Sturdy archive. They may be intentionally activated on the homepage or triggered by the user's inactivity. When users return to the site, they are greeted with pop-up easter eggs that add an element of surprise and delight to the browsing experience.
