AMOS is a French business school specialising in sports business professions. With more than a dozen campuses in Europe, AMOS also develops numerous international exchanges with local partner schools, particularly in the United States and in Asia Pacific.
Paris-based graphic design and art direction agency ZOO was responsible for developing a new global visual identity for the business school.
Beyond a complete reworking of the logotype and the chromatic range, ZOO also created an exclusive typeface present on all communication tools. The graphic register chosen by ZOO was institutional and in line with the corporate spirit of a business school, vividly linked to the world of sports. ZOO also came up with a new logotype with several variations. The logotype, inspired by university coats of arms, recalls the shape of a basketball or the globe.
ZOO developed a sophisticated graphic and typography system. The design of the font comes imbued with a certain dynamic; a movement where one can almost distinguish visual accelerations. The use of italics also corroborates the idea of movement, whereas the stable serifs bring an anchoring structure.
“The design of the font comes imbued with a certain dynamic; a movement where one can almost distinguish visual accelerations.”
In terms of colour range, the choice fell on a fluorescent green to invoke a sporty touch aligned with their branding spirit, combined with a palette of natural colours like beiges and greys to recall the serious image of a sports business school.
ZOO's challenge was to define a tone that was both institutional and dynamic, along with an international angle and a great awareness of the sporting challenges to come, and was very enthusiastic about the idea of injecting a branding and sports aspect into the higher education sector in an effort to upscale the brand image of AMOS.
